		Mission Statement

		At Sledmere Church of England School, we all work together to ensure that our school is a happy and exciting place in which to learn. We respect and care for each other and have high expectations of what we can achieve.

		The whole community values each and every child as a unique individual and this is pertinent to everything we do.

		Within the framework of the National Curriculum we will provide a stimulating curriculum which is broad, balanced, interesting and fun and that focuses on developing the skills that each and every child needs to ensure they are equipped for life-long learning.

		We promote a Christian Ethos in our school, where the values of our Christian faith of mutual respect, care and love are embedded in every area of school life. We aim to contribute to the faith of every individual in the school. We plan opportunities for reflection and encourage children’s sense of awe and wonder throughout the curriculum.

		We aim to foster good, caring relationships based on sound values within the school, village and wider community.
