To celebrate World Book Day, Sledmere C of E Primary School had a Literacy focused Whole School Day. The idea of the day was for the children to work on a variety of different activities independently and with other children from different classes and key stages, which supports cross-curricular links and encourages children to develop positive personal relationships.
All the children and members of staff dressed up as their favourite character from a children’s book. The different activities in the day included designing and making a spoon puppet, story telling, designing costumes for story characters, using puppets to retell a story, making gingerbread men, reading and performing play scripts and poetry and researching famous children’s authors on the internet and producing a fact file.
There was also a Scholastic Book Fair and £155 was raised for School Funds. |
